1- This R6 displays land/road layer FIRST then rivers/streams displays OVER so the Hochiminh city looks like in a big flood with lot of roads and their names being disappeared under water as the screen zoomed at about 5mi.
2- The previous R4 displays in the other way, rivers first then roads so that they show much better on the screen.

Sorry, but I can't reproduce the error you are reporting. My Nuvi 1490 as well as GPSmap 60 CSx are displaying the map correctly.

Have you de-installed any previous version of this map prior to the update?
    Which GPS are you using?
Do you have the latest unit firmware installed?
Did you turn off any other maps you might have installed?

Ans: Yes I installed on a blank SD card all 8 maps (17MB) of R6 from MapSource.

    Which GPS are you using?
    Ans: Nuvi 260.

Do you have the latest unit firmware installed?
Ans: Latest firmware 2008, no newer to upgrade.

Did you turn off any other maps you might have installed?
    .
Ans: No other maps, except 8 maps of R6 mentioned above.

    More Interesting Findings on R6

1- After Marsource loaded the R6 version .exe file, 8 maps were shown for selecting. I chose them all (17MB) then click to "Transfer" to Gamin260 SD card. I checked SD card and found only 1 ".img" file was created (all 8 maps were combimed in that .img file as usual).

2- I disconnected GPS from PC and turned GPS on and went to GPS "Map Info" and found 3 maps there: 1 map (Garmin260 internal memory) for US/Canada as usual, and 2 new maps of version R6 ( on Garmin SD card) with the same name.

3- I tested two R6 maps one at a time and found 1 is highways/rivers with BLUEcolor, etc., the other map is roads/streets with no blue rivers/sea...

4- If I turn on both, the map with rivers blue color always overlays & encroached the streets map. At different zoom levels the blue rivers/streams cover almost all the land/street.

5- If we can fix (so far I don't know how to do it) to "force" the rivers map display first then the street/land map, the screen is much better as the R4 version which has only 1 R4 map listed on the Garmin Map Info and the display of the R4 is always blue rivers first then the overlaying streets/land.

In your previous post you mentioned that no other maps are installed. All of a sudden you list various maps which are installed.

Again, there is nothing wrong with the V6 map. Re-read my initial reply to your problem, check all items I have listed.
Delete all Vietnam maps from the SD card (better format the card) and re-install the map from Mapsource.

    Dear Lurkin,
I think you probably misunderstood my previous replies:
1- Your comments referred "OTHER maps are installed" on SD card:
My answer: They are NOT other maps but two ACTUAL maps from V6 AFTER I installed V6 on a blank SD card. Before I sent you my previous replies I already re-installed V6 three times using Mapsource with 3 different blank SD cards but the results are the same. V6 with Mapsource always created 2 maps on SD card having the same name for these two maps.
2- I turned OFF one map at a time to see if they are different and interestingly found ONE map showed Roads/Land with NO "blue water" on rivers; and OTHER showed blue color Rivers/Sea with NO roads on the map.
3- If I do want to see a "normal view" with roads AND rivers, I have to turn ON these TWO maps of V6 on my Garmin 260. And the result is the blue "Rivers map" being always on TOP and COVERING the "Road map" so that the "normal view" looked like a big flood.
4- Maybe that "big flood" view is just for the Garmin 260 (?)

Thanks a lot for your precious time.

    OK, very clear now.
I still can't reproduce your issue.

I uploaded the V6 map to my Nuvi using Mapsource (Version 6.16.3) and in the map overview I also can see 2 maps Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam -> screenshot 1

In the next step I am starting to zoom in on HCM -> screenshot 2-5 and as you can see no flooding.

You may try to update your Nuvi 260 to the latest firmware -> I would do this in the first step.

Check if your Mapsource is up to date, otherwise update.

De-install all Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam maps from your computer. Restart and install only V6 new.

Try to upload the map again using Mapsource.

    Lurkin,
I already tried, but no luck. Rivers/sea map is always the last display on the sreen and covered the roads/bridges with thick blue. I wish I could change the order that the Roads/bridges is the last display layer. Thank you and have a Happy New Year!
