I have been riding motorbikes through Vietnam for years and have a massive collection of GPS logs. Most of these were recorded at 10sec intervals, as I am sometimes on the road for two weeks or so. I just got back from eight days on the road and managed to find five new roads, even in bad weather.
I see that the next version of the map is being compiled now. It may be easier if you tell me any areas where you are missing data.
I use a Mac so I can't use cGPSmapper, but I can send you the files as GPX.
Fantastic! Any tracklog is useful. For your case, 10sec interval is enough for inter city roads. If you have track log for rural area, please post the log for us. I'm working on R8 maps right now but, we have few donations for past few weeks. If it is not too much trouble, please send me all. I can compare those logs on the current latest map and draw the roads based on your GPS log file.
For an idea of what some of these roads are like, have a look at this: [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register] We call the small ones "Hmong highways", not sure how to classify them on your maps...
I don't know why but, I couldn't open your file "Exploratory with Will.gpx”. I used both of Mapsoruce and also GPSMapedit to open this file, but both of them failed to open it.
What tool did you use to save this gpx track log?
I'm processing your tracklog. I have one question. Did you use R6 map when you record this log with "lock on the road" option on your garmin unit? If you taking new tracklogs, please disabe this option. If it is set to "on", tracklog will be "pulled" to the existing road on the map.
