    Siem Reap GBX file

    Hi

This is my first gbx upload and I apologize in advance if it does not adhere to the process or standards. Hopefully it won't waste anyone's time.

I have a Garmin Legend Hcx and Mapsource. I have taken the logs whilst riding to various locations at the Angkor Complex on a TukTuk. Some of the roads are already noted on the map but it seems like they were a little off from the tracks that the GPS recorded. All the roads we went on are paved now, some roads still show as unpaved tracks on the current map.

Here are some issues that I didn't know how to resolve:
    * I wasn't able to leave comments or details for the tracks describing the roads we were on. Mapsource does not seem to provide a means for this.
    * I was not able to categorize the PoIs, there are category sections in Mapsource but they are category 1 to n, not Hotel, Fuel station, restaurant, etc.

We'll be traveling through Cambodia and Vietnam for the next two weeks and I'd be very happy to contribute more logs if this is helpful in any way. Of course I'd be grateful for any hints on how I can improve the logs.

    Martin

    Hello Martin,

Thanks a lot for the tracklog. Very useful.

Yes, there might be a light deviation between the map and the road itself. Therefore it is excellent to have live tracklogs in order to adjust the map.

I have attached 2 screen shots taken from Mapsource with your tracklogs loaded.

The "Track properties" explains how to make a description to a track. Use the pencil symbol from the top, draw a line next to the section of the tracklog you want to describe. Then, change to the arrow symbol which represents the standard mouse icon, right mouse click on the drawn line and click properties. You will see a window as in the attached screen shot where you can enter your description.

The "waypoint properties" screen shot is as far I guess self explanatory similar to the track properties.
Select one of your POI's from the left menu, right mouse click, properties and look for symbol.

    Otherwise well done. Thanks again

    Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Thanks for the tips on enhancing the track and waypoint data.

I have attached another database, this time taken on a bus from Siem Reap to Pnom Penh. It may be useful as the bus took a road that is not yet documented in the map.

The waypoints and tracks are enhanced a bit this time thanks to your explanations. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to minimize your work to integrate data.

    Phnom Penh

Another tracklog, this time on a tuktuk tour through Phnom Penh. Has a few sightseeing waypoints and adds a few new roads. Hope it is of help.
