I've just tried to attach a file to a post but I don't seem to get anywhere. I select the file I want to upload but there doesn't seem to be any thing past this point to upload it, am I missing something?. Anyone else tried this?

Yes guys, I agree. Can happen depending on the browser you use.
Here is the work around.
Navigate to "Settings" top right menu -> click -> that takes you to the user control panel
On the left menu select "General settings" and scroll down until you see "Miscellaneous Options"
In that section "Enhanced Attachment uploading" -> OFF
That should work - this is one of the latest safety/security features of the new vBulletin forum software.
