GPX2IMG – add quickly your tracks and POI’s onto your map

You had a good day out using your GPS tracking off the beaten tracks discovering new roads which are not included on your current map.Even if you submit your newly recorded tracks and points of interest it will take some time for the mapper to implement your contributions onto the map.
Have you tried converting a GPX file to an IMG file for loading onto your GPS unit manually before? Although it is possible using [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register], unless you have a couple days to kill, don’t mind reading documentation spread across 10 different websites and have a good understanding of command lines and the way Garmin maps are setup internally, it is not an easy task!
Here comes the [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register] very handy. Introduced just few days ago, GPX2IMG allows you to upload your newly discovered treasures as a transparent map onto your unit in as little as 2 steps and have your new map items displayed immediately.
All you need to do is open your GPX files in GPX2IMG and click the convert button! Your maps are then converted into IMG files and loaded into MapSource for you. No need to mess with the registry or anything yourself!
GPX2IMG offers a free trial version for [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register]. The trial version allows maximum 2 tracklogs to be converted at a time. The fully licensed version comes without any limitations.
Only 13 US$ for now as a discounted price is a real bargain for every GPS user. So hurry up as long as the discounted price is available.

    Gpx2img

Is it vector or raster format? Makes a difference for routability I guess.

Recap - GPX2IMG uses your own recorded tracklogs in GPX format.

Are GPX tracklogs vector or raster format?
    Now you can answer yourself

    Hi Lurkin,

To be honest: I have no idea.
A track consists of discrete points (raster?) which are interconnected. This connection could well be in vector format as there is a direction component to it.

    Errrmm..... give you another hint.

Load one of your self recorded tracklogs in GPX format in Mapsource to be displayed on the map.
Now zoom in and out and watch what happens to the tracklog.
Do you think this will be possible if the tracklog was in raster format?
