I have attached tracklogs which show the new East West Highway from this side of the Saigon River. This all links up with the new tunnel under the river (?open Q1 2011).
There are a number of new ramps at the Hanoi Highway end. The highway is 6 lanes in each direction, each group of 3 lanes is divided by a raised strip, then a larger strip in the centre. The existing road Lien Tinh Lo 25b is now one way over the older bridge, there is now a new bridge about 100m to the side which is also one way, they are both operating. The highway and ramps are operating up to where you turn off to the bridge at LTL 25b, it is nearly complete up to the tunnel as you can see if you view those tracks in Google Earth. I have added waypoints where I thought their information may be useful. You can see where the tracklog over the Thu Thiem Bridge now connects to the highway.
I would draw this in Mapedit but am not sure how you want to handle the lanes.

Thank you for posting!! So many updates from various people in this few weeks! However, I am taking vacation next week for Vietnam trip and also I'm expecting another week for business trip. So, my real job drives me crazy. I'm not ignoring you and other people. I will update the base map after my trip!.
I finished to put those six tracklogs to the map. One question. There is a road to the tunnel. Where is the other side of the tunnel? Will it be the other side of Saigon river?
The track I did points straight to the tunnel entrance, the tunnel comes out on the other side of the river and will join with QL1A, we already have most of the new part of
QL1A on the current map release. In reality QL1A is now longer than we show and it will intersect with the tunnel, there is also major work going on which continues to the Thu Thiem bridge, we have the bridge named as Cau Thu Thiem, Cau is bridge in Vietnamese. That's why I did that tracklog from the Thu Thiem bridge, that also links with the new Highway. It' s really quite well planned and needed to be done to smooth traffic flow, traffic will bypass the centre if it needs to just keep heading north (or South) on QL1A. All the traffic from District 2 ( the new city centre of the future) will be able to travel to the existing centre without having to travel along Dien Bien Phu Street. By the way the tunnel is straight, I saw the sections that will join together being towed down the river and they were all straight sections, there have been some leaks where they join together but they will be/have been repaired.
Welcome back. I found the other side of the tunnel exit on the google satelite view and I connected those tunnels to QL1A. I am stop working to update map and wait until R7 map to be bulit. I know it will take few month to integrate map as L-C-V map so, I assume those tunnels will be available when the map become ready to use. Don't be surprised the map has a future road which is not available yet in real world.
