    Unhappy downlaoding via a mac

    Hi,
I am sure you have a simple solution but here goes, i run on a Mac and downloaded your Laos map pretty easy, i have as directed copied all the img files to my sd card of my Nuvi 200 but it does not see the map.

On the sd card i have a folder called garmin which holds my Thai map, i have tried pasting into this folder but still no joy.

    Can you help ?

First question: did you read this - [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register] ??
The MapInstall software for MAC users should be of great help. And also do not forget to have a look a the Map Converter on Garmin's website.

Second question: how did you name your IMG-files?
Nuvi accepts only 2 maps on 1 microSD card (in the directory "garmin"). One would be called "gmapsupp.img" and the second one is "gmapprom.img".
    Anything else won't work.

    Hope that helps.

    Lurkin,
thanks for the reply in the garmin folder i already have an img called gmappsup.img i dont have the other one you mentioned.

Regarding how did i name them, i copied them (i think 10) directly to the card as i found them in the downloaded folder, should i have renamed them ?

Renaming does not solve the issue.
You downloaded our map and installed it. During the map installation on your computer various files will be extracted.
You will also find a certain amount of IMG-files. Those files contain partial information from the entire map.

What you need now is to download Mapsource for MAC (link in my previous reply) which will help you to compile the partial information included in the extracted file into 1 single IMG-file which will become the map.
I reckon that Mapsource for MAC (sorry not a MAC user) will also create the gmapsupp.img file. So you would need to rename this IMG-file into "gmapprom.img" once compiled and upload it onto your microSD card.

    Is this more understandable?
