This article describes how to upload any Garmin maps into your GPS using Mapsource.

The example shows the map upload procedure using one of our maps but it is the same for all maps......
Open Mapsource select "Laos Vietnam 2008 R2" map

SELECT TOOLS - MAP (M)

CLICK AND DRAG TOOL FROM TOP LEFT TO BOTTOM RIGHT OF MAP - this should turn pink

Insert your SD card into a card reader and attach it to your computer.
!!!MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR EXISTING MAPS ON THE CARD FIRST!!!

Go to TRANSFER - SEND TO DEVICE

Select your SD card in the DEVICE drop down box - in this example it is Drive F

Remember if you have your GPS connected and wish to transfer files to your GPS unit, it will be the default selection, just click on the drop down box to select the SD card instead. Ignore the rest of the steps following this.

Click SEND

NAVIGATE TO the folder of your SD card using Windows Explorer.

Go to the "Garmin" folder

The gmapsupp.img file should be saved there and ready to go.

If you need this file for other purposes, just move or copy this to wherever you need (eg. Mobile phone etc)
