hi all,
have tried downloading the thailand 2010 map but cant seem to open it on my laptop..do i need a certain application to open it.it download's o.k but i cant seem to do anything with it!!!!

any idea's??

All our downloads are zipped in order to decrease the file size and to save place within our limited web hosting package.

So you need to unzip the file using either free or shareware software.
7 zip is free from [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register]
Winrar is shareware, free to use for 40 days available from [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register]
Both will do the job.

Once you unzip the file your will find an installer EXE-file. Double click on that installer to install the map on your computer (Windows Vista + 7 users might need to run the the installer file as administrator).
After you complete the installation you should be able to see the map in Garmin's Mapsource.

From your description I would say that the file didn't download correctly. Try re-download the file.

You also should make sure you navigate to the folder where you store the downloaded file.
Right mouse click on the zipped file and extract. Do not try to extract by double clicking on the file as this will give you an error message.

You are right,
the Lengths of the File was wrong.
After a new Download there are no Problems.

Hi I also downloaded the Thailand map 2010 and when trying to unzip it says that
1. if I click on open (or double-click) a window appears with the message: 'the archive is either in unknown format or damaged'
2. if I want to extract the file (here or somewhere else) two windows appear: one says 'no archive found' and the other says the same message as before.

Lurkin, what does it mean, that the download was corrupted and I have to simply try again? ot there is a problem with the file?

Most probably a corrupted download, try to re-download the file

I've googled for "how to run exe-files on MAC" and the most results I got are leading to CrossOver software [Dear Guest/Member you can't see link before replyclick here to register]. Trial version is available.

Hi Everyone

I have mapsource installed. When I click the .exe file, it shows that something is installing and then it finishes. However, mapsource hasn't changed and I can't find the new map.

I've tried this for Laos Cambodia and Myanmar maps. Same thing. No map in Mapsource.

This could be a dumb question, but what am I doing wrong.
