TRAPS AND ERRORS

If you have a blue node, it either means that it is either a dead end road or nodes aren’t connected together yet.

All polylines should have a blue node at the end for auto routing to work properly.

Traffic will not route on a street with a dead end if doesn’t have a blue node at the end.

HOW TO CREATE A BLUE NODE

As mentioned earlier, dead end roads should be “terminated” with a blue node.

Select Tools – Edit Nodes (or Press M)

Place mouse on end of polyline (at the end of Ung Binh Road in the diagram)

Right click, select Node Properties

Select Routing tab

Tick the box “This node is routing graph node”
Click Apply

The blue node should appear at the end of the polyline

FIXING RED NODES

Sometime you may encounter Red Nodes

These are real problematic and can arise due to :-

Too many nodes stacked on top of one another or
Multiple polylines connected in an overlapped fashion.

The way to solve them usually involves a combination of :-

Extracting all elements
Deleting extra overlapping polyline
Deleting extra nodes

Keep doing any or all of the above in the order listed until the red node disappears

Reconnect nodes if it is a proper intersection until you get the yellow, green or magenta coloured nodes and you should be fine
