Opened a new thread to keep things apart but it is related to the address search in HMC thread here: You can see links before reply
I am running Garmin XT (2008 version) on my HTC mobile. The XT menu suggests a function called "Simulate route".
When I click it following message pops up
"To simulate driving a route, you must have an active route and the GPS signal must be disabled".
So far so good but to me it looks like a bit of an endless loop?
To reproduce the example of searching on GPS unit while not physically inside the country requires the GPS to be in simulation mode (GPS signal off) and the pointer to be placed within the search area.
On the other hand - at least from my understanding - to create an active route, the GPS must be on? Or did I miss something?
On Garmin XT it is different from Nuvi where I can simulate routing with GPS in sim mode.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Also, where the heck to disable GPS signal in Garmin XT?
Thanks
