All intersecting polylines need to be connected if you want traffic to route through them –i.e. being able to make a left or right turn at that point.
This is a sample of HUE map (by Ryo Nakagawara) that was originally created for GPS use but was not auto routeable.
1
This is one of the ways to make it auto routeable
Select Tools – Edit Nodes (or press M)
Click on road that has missing node at intersection, (Vertical road in diagram)
Place mouse on area where you want to insert node, (line will turn magenta)
Right click – Insert Node (or press Insert)
2
Click on the same node again
Then right click Connect to nearest node
3
If done correctly, node will turn YELLOW
Nodes will have different colours depending on how many polylines are connected together at the intersection.
NUMBER OF INTERSECTING LINES - NODE COLOUR
Two Yellow
Three Green
Four or more Magenta
